Growth...

This week has been the first time Steve and I have struggled to keep on top of the growth. Following plenty of rain, sun and warm soil temperatures we are experiencing a growth flush of which I haven’t seen since joining High Post in 2017. After the two seasons we’ve had you will never here me complain about the weather again, just inform. On the plus side, recovery is strong 👍🏻🌱.

Greens...

The dark green majority is bent grass (agrostis) and the yellow areas are annual meadow grass (poa annua). This is the 4th green one of which we are seeing extreme success with fine grass promotion.

A month without rain ☔️

As the government announce another three weeks of lockdown, here are some photos for you all to enjoy, as-well as my usual ramblings 😊 . Stay safe everyone.

The semi rough was cut for the first time this week.

With soil temperatures up, there was plenty of grass growth this week.

My family & golf course isolation...

The week before this pandemic began I was on annual leave, during that period my parents came to stay with us in their beloved motorhome. They made the decision to stay with us during lockdown and isolate together, helping Aimee and I with home schooling the kids. I am lucky to have such supportive folks, one of which happens to be a retired builder!!!

I soon got Ben back on the tools, making short work of repairing the damaged curb at the entrance to the clubhouse.

My mum is also keen to help out on our extended garden, pruning around some of our newly planted gorse bushes and weeding around the clubhouse, closely supervised by my eldest.

They have also been assisting with the security checks of the golf course, we walk the course to make sure we don’t have any unwanted visitors. So far we have had to move on a few dog walkers and cyclists that have tried to take advantage of the lack of golf but no significant damage as of yet 🤞🏻.

Steve and myself continue to maintain, present and protect your wonderful golf course, with a little help from my family, stay safe everyone, looking forward to catching up with you all soon.
